Dear SEC, I am writing to express my concern and disappointment regarding the decision to ban the sale and use of Stoner Cats. As an original minter of this project, I feel compelled to address what I perceive as a misguided and counterproductive action. Stoner Cats was not merely a product; it was an innovative project that aimed to challenge outdated Hollywood practices related to the creation and distribution of media. As a community-driven initiative, Stoner Cats allowed NFT holders to engage in the storytelling process, providing feedback and shaping the project’s creative direction. This participatory model exemplified the potential of blockchain technology in fostering a collaborative and decentralized approach to filmmaking. I fully understood what I was purchasing when I minted Stoner Cats. I was neither misled nor exploited. On the contrary, the project represented a promising new frontier for filmmakers, offering a means to secure funding, generate interest, and distribute content through NFTs. It was inspiring to be part of something that felt like the future of creative industries. While I acknowledge the importance of regulation to protect consumers, I am concerned that this decision stems from a lack of understanding of NFTs and their potential. By dismissing a project like Stoner Cats, we risk stifling innovation and progress in an emerging field. The United States has always been a leader in fostering creativity and entrepreneurship; it is disheartening to see us taking steps backward instead of embracing new possibilities. I urge you to reconsider this decision and engage in a deeper exploration of projects like Stoner Cats. Understanding and supporting innovation is crucial for our nation’s growth, especially in industries undergoing significant transformation. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, William Kevin Shanklin IV
