In the past, the only recourse for reprimanding bad actors has been a monetary fine. When the fine is low enough to be considered a \"cost of doing business\" and is simply factored into the potential profit when considering breaking the law, that fine is not significant enough to dissuade bad actors from breaking the law. Either the fine needs to be larger or jail time needs to be a potential repricussion and INDIVIDUALS need to be held accountable. The ramifications to the general public in this case, in particular, have a far greater negative impact than the dollar amount of the fine imposed by the commission.
