Director, Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs
Previous SEC Positions:
Keith Cassidy was named Director of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs in March 2016.
Mr. Cassidy previously served as the office’s Deputy Director, beginning his SEC career in 2010. Before coming to the SEC, Mr. Cassidy was Chief of Staff and Counsel at the Department of Justice’s Office of Legislative Affairs after working in the United States Senate as a Legislative Assistant.
He is also an Infantry Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, where he serves as the Operations Liaison Officer for B Company, 4th Reconnaissance Battalion, and has earned numerous awards.
He received his law degree from the George Washington University Law School and his LL.M. in Securities and Financial Regulation from Georgetown Law Center. He holds a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Virginia.
