FWRO's Shipchandler and Peavler to Speak at UT Government Enforcement Institute

On September 29, 2016, Fort Worth Regional Director Shamoil T. Shipchandler will deliver the keynote address at the University of Texas School of Law’s 3rd Annual Government Enforcement Institute, and also appear on a panel entitled, “SEC Priorities: The Year Past, The Year Ahead,” which will discuss recent SEC enforcement priorities and provide insights into issues that may lie ahead. Shipchandler will appear in conjunction with colleague Scott W. Friestad, Associate Director, Division of Enforcement.

Associate Regional Director David L. Peavler will speak as part of a panel entitled, “The Audit Committee and Government Enforcement: Where the Buck Stops,” which will examine the increasing role that the audit committee plays in overseeing internal and external investigations; the government’s perception of that role; what audit committees expect from the company’s counsel, external counsel and auditors; and best practices for navigating the many constituencies involved—auditors, regulators, investors and management.
