Adam Anicich
Adam Anicich serves as the Senior Advisor to the Director and Investor Engagement Manager for the Commission. In this role, he is responsible for a wide range of activities, including developing engagement initiatives and receiving feedback from both institutional and retail investors, supporting the Investor Advocate, providing guidance on strategic priorities, and is the Investor Advocate’s delegate to FinHub. Anicich developed and leads a large task force called the Interagency Securities Council, which focuses on complex financial frauds and is comprised of 2,000+ personnel from 250+ law enforcement and government regulators at the federal, state, and local levels. Anicich also chairs a Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) interagency Working Group on Public-Private Partnerships. He joined the SEC in 2016 as Program Manager for International Enforcement and Technical Assistance in the Office of International Affairs.
Prior to the SEC, Anicich was the Director of External Coordination and Chief Appropriations Officer at the Department of Homeland Security. From 2010 to 2014, Anicich oversaw congressional and legislative affairs for the Department of Veterans Affairs in The Capitol. Earlier he held leadership positions at the Department of Commerce, Health and Human Services, Missile Defense Agency, and spent six years in the private sector at two southern California banks.
Anicich received a bachelor’s degree and Master of Business Administration from Saint Leo University, completed three years towards a Doctorate in Management at the University of Maryland, and obtained an LLM certificate in securities and financial regulation from Georgetown University Law Center. He also holds the designation of Certified Regulatory and Compliance Professional (CRCP).
Anicich remains active in the Veterans Community as Vice Chairman of the Interagency Veterans Advisory Council, Chair of the SEC Veterans Committee, and as a member on several executive committees at the Department of Veterans Affairs.
