Basis of Presentation and Significant Accounting Policies [Text Block]	Basis of Presentation The consolidated condensed balance sheet as of April 30, 2011, which has been derived from audited financial statements, is accompanied by the unaudited interim consolidated condensed financial statements, which reflect the normal recurring adjustments that in the opinion of management are necessary to present fairly Torotel’s consolidated financial position at January 31, 2012, and the consolidated results of operations for the three and nine months ended January 31, 2012, and January 31, 2011. The unaudited interim consolidated condensed financial statements have been prepared pursuant to the rules and regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Certain information and note disclosures normally included in the annual financial statements prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles have been condensed or omitted pursuant to those rules and regulations, although management believes the disclosures made are adequate to make the information not misleading. The financial statements contained herein should be read in conjunction with Torotel’s consolidated financial statements and related notes filed on Form 10-K for the year ended April 30, 2011.
