Election of Director
     On May 27, 2008, by vote of the Board of Directors of Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (the “Company”), Judy C. Lewent was elected a director of the Company. Ms. Lewent was appointed to the Strategy Review Committee.
     Ms. Lewent was formerly executive vice president and chief financial officer of Merck & Co., Inc., where she was employed from 1980 to 2007. She also served as president, Human Health Asia at Merck.
