7. Loss Per Share

We present basic and diluted loss per share on our Consolidated Statements of Operations. Basic loss per share excludes dilution and is computed by dividing net loss by the weighted-average number of shares of common stock

outstanding for the period. We experienced net losses for the Successor periods for the years ended December 31, 2023 and 2022 and the period from April 24, 2021 through December 31, 2021 and the Predecessor period from January 1, 2021 through April 23, 2021. We have excluded shares of common stock issuable upon exercise of outstanding stock appreciation rights and vesting of outstanding restricted stock units from the calculation of weighted-average shares because their inclusion would be antidilutive.
