6. Vendor rebates and vendor price protection are recorded when earned as a reduction to cost of sales or merchandise inventory, as applicable. Cooperative reimbursements from vendors, which are earned and available, are recorded in the period in which the related advertising expenditure is incurred. Cooperative reimbursements are recorded as reduction in cost of sales in accordance with ASC Topic 605-50 “Accounting by a Customer (including reseller) for Certain Consideration Received from a Vendor.”
