Stock repurchase plan [Text Block]	Stock Repurchase Plan Under our current common stock repurchase program, our Board of Directors has authorized the purchase, from time to time, in the open market and privately negotiated transactions, of up to an aggregate of $1.25 billion of Rent-A-Center common stock. We have repurchased a total of 36,994,653 shares of Rent-A-Center common stock for an aggregate purchase price of $994.8 million as of December 31, 2017. No shares were repurchased during 2017 and 2016. Common stock repurchases are currently prohibited under the Fourth Amendment to our Credit Agreement. Please see Note I for further discussion of this restriction.
