Restructuring and Other Special Charges	RESTRUCTURING AND OTHER SPECIAL CHARGES During the first three months of 2012, the Company recorded a net credit of $3.6 in restructuring and other special charges. The Company reversed previously established reserves of $3.8 in unused severance and $2.4 in unused facility related costs. This net credit also includes charges of $1.7 related to severance and other personnel costs, and $0.9 primarily related to facility-related costs primarily related to ongoing integration activities for Orchid and the Integrated Genetics Division (formerly Genzyme Genetics). During the first three months of 2011, the Company recorded net restructuring charges of $13.1. Of this amount, $4.0 related to severance and other employee costs and $9.8 related to facility related costs associated with the integration of Genzyme Genetics. These charges were offset by a restructuring credit of $0.7 resulting from the reversal of unused severance and facility closure liabilities. In addition, the Company recorded a special charge of $14.8 related to the write-off of certain assets and liabilities related to an investment made in the prior year. Genzyme Genetics and its logo are trademarks of Genzyme Corporation and used by Esoterix Genetic Laboratories, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of LabCorp, under license.
