Basis of Accounting, Policy

In the opinion of the management of AK Steel Holding Corporation (“AK Holding”) and its wholly-owned subsidiary, AK Steel Corporation (“AK Steel”, and together with AK Holding, the “Company”), the accompanying condensed consolidated financial statements contain all adjustments, consisting of normal recurring adjustments, necessary to present fairly the financial position of the Company as of June 30, 2015 and December 31, 2014, the results of its operations for the three and six months endedJune 30, 2015 and 2014, and its cash flows for the six months ended June 30, 2015 and 2014. The results of operations for the three and six months endedJune 30, 2015 are not necessarily indicative of the results to be expected for the full year ending December 31, 2015. These condensed consolidated financial statements should be read in conjunction with the audited consolidated financial statements of the Company for the year ended December 31, 2014, included in the Company’s Form 10‑K for the year ended December 31, 2014.
