DARLING INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCES CONFERENCE CALL AND WEBCAST
FOR ITS FIRST QUARTER 2006 FINANCIAL RESULTS on May 12, 2006

        Irving, Texas, May 10, 2006:   Darling International Inc. (AMEX: DAR)announced today that it will release its first quarter 2006 financial results after the market close on Thursday, May 11, 2006 and will host a conference call at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time (10:00 a.m. Central Time) on Friday, May 12, 2006 to provide additional details about the company's results.
