Employee Benefit Plans	EMPLOYEE BENEFIT PLANS The Company has a defined contribution savings plan covering all eligible associates. The Company matches 33% of an employee’s contribution up to 5% of the employee’s annual compensation, subject to statutory limitations. The Company’s contributions to the plan were $0.5 million for fiscal year 2011 and $0.6 million for fiscal years 2010 and 2009. Plan participants may choose from an array of mutual fund investment options. The plan does not permit investments in West Marine common stock.
