Note 5. Accumulated Other Comprehensive (Loss) Income
The Company’s accumulated other comprehensive (loss) income consists of the accumulated net unrealized gains and losses on available-for-sale investments, foreign currency translation adjustments and change in unrealized components of defined benefit obligations.

(1) Activity before reclassifications to the Consolidated Statements of Operations during the six months ended December 31, 2016 relates to the unrealized gain on the marketable equity securities of Lumentum held by Viavi. The amount reclassified out of accumulated other comprehensive (loss) income relates to the realized gain from the sale of the marketable equity securities of Lumentum. There was no tax impact for the six months ended December 31, 2016.

(2) The amount reclassified out of accumulated other comprehensive income represents the amortization of actuarial losses included as a component of cost of revenues, research and development (“R&D”) and selling, general and administrative expense (“SG&A”) in the Consolidated Statement of Operations for the six months ended December 31, 2016. There was no tax impact for the six months ended December 31, 2016. Refer to “Note 15. Employee Pension and Other Benefit Plans” for more details on the computation of net periodic cost for pension plans.
