14. NOTES PAYABLE

On July 2, 2015, the Company closed on a $10,000,000 venture loan led by Horizon Technology Finance Corporation (“Horizon”). The debt facility was a four-year senior secured term loan that bore interest at a floating coupon rate of one-month LIBOR (floor of 0.50%) plus 8.50% and provided for interest-only payments for the first eighteen months followed by monthly payments of principal of $333,333 plus accrued interest through August 1, 2019. The lenders also received five-year immediately exercisable Series G warrants to purchase 549,450 shares of the Company’s common stock exercisable at an exercise price of $0.91 per share. The Company recorded a debt discount of $305,196 equal to the fair value of these warrants at issuance, which were amortized to interest expense over the term of the related debt. This debt discount was offset against the note payable balance and was included in additional paid-in capital on the Company’s balance sheet. In addition, a final incremental payment of $500,000 was due on August 1, 2019. This final incremental payment was accreted to interest expense over the term of the related debt and was included in other current liabilities on the consolidated balance sheet as of June 30, 2019. The Company incurred $146,115 of costs in connection with the loan agreement. These costs were capitalized as deferred financing costs and were offset against the note payable balance. These debt issuance costs were amortized to interest expense over the term of the related debt. During the year ended June 30, 2020, the loan matured, and on July 31, 2019, the Company made the final incremental payment of $500,000.
