Item 5.    Other Events.

Atchison Casting Corporation issued a press release today announcing that it has
received formal notice from the New York Stock Exchange ("NYSE") that the
Company is "below criteria" for the NYSE continued listing criteria relating to
total market capitalization over a 30 trading-day period. A copy of the press
release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
