Depreciation is calculated using the straight-line method over the estimated useful life of the Company’s units, after the date that the Company put the unit in service, and are depreciated down to their estimated residual values. The Company’s steel units are depreciated over 30 years with an estimated residual value of 55%. Wood office units are depreciated over 20 years with an estimated residual value of 50%. Van trailers, which are a small part of the Company’s fleet, are depreciated over seven years to a 20% residual value. The Company has other non-core products that have various other measures of useful lives and residual values. Van trailers and other non-core products are only added to the fleet as a result of acquisitions of portable storage businesses. </div> <div align="left" style="font-size: 10pt; margin-top: 10pt">In the opinion of management, estimated residual values do not cause carrying values to exceed net realizable value. The Company continues to evaluate these depreciation policies as more information becomes available from other comparable sources and the Company’s own historical experience. </div> <div align="left" style="font-size: 10pt; margin-top: 10pt">Normal repairs and maintenance to the portable storage and mobile office units are expensed as incurred.
