Item 8.01 Other Events

On April 1, 2010, ARCA biopharma, Inc., or ARCA, issued a press release announcing that during the first quarter of 2010, through its previously established equity distribution agreement, it raised net proceeds of approximately $6.8 million through the sale of 1,075,000 shares of ARCA common stock in open market. The press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 hereto, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.
