     Stone Energy Corporation (the “Company”) has been informed of the death of director Raymond B. Gary, who passed away on April 28, 2007. Mr. Gary served as a director of the Company since 1993 and was a member of the Audit, Compensation, and Nominating and Governance Committees of the Company’s board of directors.
