VARIABLE INTEREST ENTITIES VARIABLE INTEREST ENTITIES
We hold variable interests in certain variable interest entities (VIEs) that are not consolidated because we are not the primary beneficiary. Our involvement with these entities is in the form of direct equity interests and prepayments related to purchases of materials. The maximum exposure to loss represents the loss of assets recognized by us relating to non-consolidated entities and amounts due to the non-consolidated assets. The assets and liabilities recognized in Titan's consolidated balance sheets related to our interest in these non-consolidated VIEs and our maximum exposure to loss relating to non-consolidated VIEs were as follows at December 31, 2025 and 2024 (amounts in thousands):
