Software Development Costs for Signal Online Publishing Solution

The Company continued the development of Signal, its online publishing solution, through the second quarter of 2012. Signal is expected to be deployed through a cloud-based SaaS platform as well as the sale of software licenses and software on a server appliance, depending on customer preference. The Company accounted for the associated development costs under the guidance of ASC 985-20, "Costs of Software to be Sold, Leased or Marketed." This standard provides that research and development costs incurred to establish the technological feasibility of a computer software product to be sold, leased or otherwise marketed are research and development costs and should be charged to expense when incurred. All Signal development expenses incurred during the three and six months ended June 30, 2012 and 2011 were expensed to research and development in the accompanying condensed consolidated statements of operations.
