Item 8.01 Other Events.

     On June 16, 2005, Encysive Pharmaceuticals Inc. announced plans to market Thelin^™ (sitaxsentan sodium) directly in Europe. Thelin, an oral, once daily, highly selective endothelin receptor antagonist, is currently being evaluated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as a new treatment for pulmonary arterial hypertension.
