(February 9, 2005) - American HomePatient, Inc. (OTC: AHOM.OB) today announced that Frank Powers will be the Company's new Chief Operating Officer effective immediately. As previously announced, COO Thomas Mills decided to leave the Company but agreed to assist in the transition of his duties through March 31, 2005. Mr. Powers previously had joined the Company as an Executive Vice President in the fall of 2004. Mr. Powers served as an executive officer of Matria Healthcare, Inc. from 1996 until 2002. Prior to that he was an officer of Healthdyne, Inc. or an affiliate for over 12 years, during which time he spent a significant amount of time as President of the Home Care Group that provided products and services to the home care market.
