Description Of Business	NOTE 1: DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS Trimble Navigation Limited (Trimble or the Company) began operations in 1978 and incorporated in California in 1981. The Company provides positioning product solutions, most typically to commercial and government users. The principal applications served include surveying, construction, agriculture, urban and resource management, military, transportation and telecommunications. The Company's products typically provide its customers benefits that can include lower operational costs, higher productivity, and improved quality. Examples of products include systems that guide agricultural and construction equipment, surveying instruments, systems that track fleets of vehicles, and data collection systems that enable the management of large amounts of geo-referenced information. In addition, the Company also manufactures components for in-vehicle navigation and telematics systems, and timing modules used in the synchronization of wireless networks.
