Item 5.02    Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

(b) On March 12, 2018, Kevin J. Guenthner notified First Interstate BancSystem, Inc. (the “Company”) that he was resigning from the Company, including as the Company's Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, effective March 23, 2018. Mr. Guenthner has not indicated that his resignation is related to a disagreement with the Company on any matter relating to the Company’s operations, policies or practices.
