                      SELIGMAN SELECT MUNICIPAL FUND, INC.
                   DECLARES JUNE INCOME DIVIDEND DISTRIBUTION

NEW YORK, June 6, 2008 - Directors of Seligman Select Municipal Fund, Inc.
(NYSE: SEL) today declared an income dividend of $0.036 per share. The dividend
will be payable June 23, 2008 to shareholders of record on June 16, 2008. Shares
of Seligman Select Municipal Fund, Inc. will be offered "ex-dividend" on June
12, 2008.
