Commitments and contingencies Guarantees The Company has given letters of guarantee to secure obligations of subsidiary undertakings as follows: $12.9 billion, $11.3 billion, and $11.1 billion in respect of loans and borrowings, bank advances and derivative obligations at September 30, 2024, December 31, 2023 and September 30, 2023, respectively, and $0.5 billion, $0.4 billion, and $0.4 billion at September 30, 2024, December 31, 2023 and September 30, 2023, respectively, in respect of letters of credit due within one year. Legal Proceedings The Company is not involved in any proceedings that it believes could reasonably be expected to have a material adverse effect on the Company’s financial condition, results of operations or liquidity.
