On Wednesday, March 19, 2008, Dr. Alan Barton, Executive Vice President, announced his intention to retire from Rohm and Haas Company before the end of this year.

Item 8.01 Other Events.

Beginning in 2008, we will be reporting our segment results on a pre-tax basis instead of on an after-tax basis. We are furnishing unaudited schedules that reflect our quarterly results by segment, on a pre-tax basis, from the first quarter 2004 through the fourth quarter 2007 on the attached Exhibit 99.1.
