[3] Post-modification balances in North America include $74 million of residential first mortgages and $22 million of home equity loans to borrowers who have gone through Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the three months ended September 30, 2014. These amounts include $45 million of residential first mortgages and $19 million of home equity loans that are newly classified as TDRs in the three months ended September 30, 2014 as a result of OCC guidance, as described above.
[4] Post-modification balances in North America include $138 million of residential first mortgages and $30 million of home equity loans to borrowers who have gone through Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the three months ended September 30, 2013. These amounts include $87 million of residential first mortgages and $24 million of home equity loans that are newly classified as TDRs in the three months ended September 30, 2013 as a result of OCC guidance, as described above.
[5] Post-modification balances in North America include $240 million of residential first mortgages and $65 million of home equity loans to borrowers who have gone through Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the nine months ended September 30, 2014. These amounts include $144 million of residential first mortgages and $56 million of home equity loans that are newly classified as TDRs as a result of OCC guidance received in the nine months ended September 30, 2014, as described above.

[7] Represents portion of contractual loan principal that is non-interest bearing but still due from the borrower. Such deferred principal is charged off at the time of permanent modification to the extent that the related loan balance exceeds the underlying collateral value.
