Commencing on July 30, 2021, Weingarten Realty Investors (the “Company”) commenced the distribution of a letter to certain shareholders of the Company requesting that shareholders vote on the proposals described in the proxy materials sent to shareholders on or about June 29, 2021 seeking their approval of the agreement and plan of merger, dated as of April 15, 2021, between the Company and Kimco Realty Corporation (“Kimco”) and related proposals.  A copy of the letter is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated by reference herein.
