Our effective income tax rate for the three months ended March 31, 2020 and 2019 was 7.6% and 20.6%, respectively. The effective rate for the first quarter of 2020 varied from the statutory tax rates primarily due to the non-deductible impairment of goodwill. The effective tax rate for the first quarter of 2019 varied from the statutory tax rates primarily due to tax exempt interest income.
