(4) ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE ALLOWANCE

The Company's customers are primarily major consumer product, food, and wine & spirit companies and container manufacturers. Accounts receivable consist of amounts due from customers in connection with our normal business activities and are carried at sales value less allowance for doubtful accounts. The allowance for doubtful accounts is established to reflect the expected losses of accounts receivable based on past collection history, age, account payment status compared to invoice payment terms and specific individual risks identified. The following table summarizes the activity in the allowance for doubtful accounts for 2012, 2011 and 2010:
