Inventory consists of the following (in thousands):

As of September 30, 2022, total inventory included $36.2 million related to ZYNRELEF, $13.4 million related to CINVANTI, and $2.6 million related to SUSTOL. As of December 31, 2021, total inventory included $23.6 million related to ZYNRELEF, $23.1 million related to CINVANTI, and $1.7 million related to SUSTOL. For the three and nine months ended September 30, 2022, cost of product sales included charges of $2.0 million and $4.5 million, respectively, resulting primarily from the write-off of short-dated ZYNRELEF inventory. For the three and nine months ended September 30, 2021, cost of product sales included charges of $0.4 million and $3.5 million, respectively, resulting from the write-off of short-dated SUSTOL inventory.
