Item 8.01 Other Events.

On July 24, 2020, Heron Therapeutics, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that the European Medicines Agency’s Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use adopted a positive opinion, recommending the granting of a marketing authorisation for ZYNRELEF^TM (formerly known as HTX-011), intended for the treatment of postoperative pain (the “Press Release”). A copy of the Press Release is filed herewith as Exhibit 99.1.
