19. RELATED PARTY TRANSACTIONS

Dr. David S. Tomsche (Chair of our Board of Directors) is a controlling owner of Leedstone Inc., a domestic distributor of ImmuCell products (the First Defense^® product line and CMT) and of J-t Enterprises of Melrose, Inc., an exporter. His affiliated companies purchased $290,581 and $337,065 of products from us during the six-month periods ended June 30, 2019 and 2018, respectively, on terms consistent with those offered to other distributors of similar status. We made marketing-related payments of $975 and $11,358 to these affiliated companies during the six-month periods ended June 30, 2019 and 2018, respectively, which represent amounts similar to those offered to other distributors of similar status. These payments were expensed as incurred. Our accounts receivable (subject to standard and customary payment terms) due from these affiliated companies aggregated $3,120 and $16,283 as of June 30, 2019 and December 31, 2018, respectively.
