Subsequent Events [Text Block]	Subsequent Events On February 1, 2014, M/I Financial Corp. was converted from a wholly owned Ohio C corporation to a wholly owned Ohio limited liability company and its name was changed to M/I Financial, LLC. M/I Financial, LLC will be disregarded as an entity separate from its owner and will report its income and deductions on M/I Homes, Inc.’s federal and state tax returns. As a result, we estimate that we will utilize more of our state tax NOLs than previously estimated, and will recognize a tax benefit of approximately $3.0 million in the first quarter of 2014.
