Litigation Settlements Disclosure
The following table summarizes the impact on PPG’s financial statements for the three and three months ended March 31, 2016 and 2015 resulting from the 2009 PPG Settlement Arrangement, including the change in fair value of the stock to be transferred to the Trust and the equity forward instrument (see Note 13, “Financial Instruments, Hedging Activities and Fair Value Measurements”) and the increase in the net present value of the future payments to be made to the Trust:

As of March 31, 2016 and December 31, 2015, PPG had reserves for environmental contingencies associated with PPG’s former chromium manufacturing plant in Jersey City, N.J. and associated sites (“New Jersey Chrome”) and for other environmental contingencies, including National Priority List sites and legacy glass and chemical manufacturing sites. These reserves are reported as "Accounts payable and accrued liabilities" and "Other liabilities" in the accompanying condensed consolidated balance sheet.
