  Item  8.01    Other Events.

On May 2, 2008, Lakeland Industries, Inc. (the “Company”) extended the final closing date for the acquisition of Qualytextil, S.A. for Friday, May 9, 2008. Lakeland has extended the deadline due to standard and customary closing conditions in Brazil and does not anticipate any complications in completing this acquisition. The Stock Purchase Agreement and other exhibits were executed on May 2, 2008 and we are awaiting only one pre-condition to the Agreements to be completed before closing.
