Plant Closure and Consolidation

In the first six months of 2020, the Company recorded charges totaling $2.3 million in its Assembly Components segment in connection with commencement of actions to close and consolidate its extrusion operations in Tennessee and its fuel operations in Shanghai, China, and to complete other cost-reduction actions in this segment.  The charges, which are included in cost of sales in the Condensed Consolidated Statements of Income (Loss), are comprised of severance and related employee costs of $1.2 million, asset impairment of $0.5 million, and other facility costs of $0.6 million.  The Company expects to incur additional costs related to these initiatives of approximately $1.7 million in the remainder of 2020.
