Item 8.01. Other Events

The Special Deputy Rehabilitator for Acceptance Insurance Company (“AIC”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Acceptance Insurance Companies Inc., has notified John Martin and Gary Thompson that their employment with AIC as President and Treasurer, respectively, will be terminated as of September 30, 2008.
