15. Revenue

Contract liabilities are primarily related to deferred revenue resulting from cash payments received in advance from customers to protect against credit risk. Contract liabilities totaled $233 million as of April 5, 2025 ($200 million as of December 31, 2024) and are included in accrued expenses and other current liabilities in the condensed consolidated balance sheets.

Nucor disaggregates its revenues by major source in the same manner as presented in the net sales by product table in the segment footnote (see Note 14).
