On April 19, 2007 Merchants Bancshares, Inc. (the "Company") issued a press release announcing that its Board of Directors had declared a quarterly dividend of 28 cents per share on the Company's common stock. Earnings Release Calendar

SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT--Merchants Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: MBVT), the parent company of Merchants Bank, announced today that its Board of Directors declared a dividend of 28 cents per share payable May 17, 2007, to shareholders of record as of May 3, 2007.

Merchants plans to release earnings on or about April 30, 2007.
