Research and Development	Research and Development We share the cost of certain product and process development activities with development partners. Our R&D expenses were reduced by reimbursements under these arrangements of $58 million and $114 million for the second quarter and first six months of 2018, respectively, and $59 million and $115 million for the second quarter and first six months of 2017, respectively.
