Restructuring and severance charges recorded in the first and second quarters of 2020 in the IT Services and Hardware segment are associated with initiatives to reduce and contain costs. In the first quarter of 2020, the Company finalized a voluntary severance program in Cincinnati and Hawaii for certain bargained and management employees in an effort to continue to reduce costs associated with our copper field and network operations. As a result, a severance charge of $14.5 million was recorded in the Entertainment and Communications segment. 

Lease abandonment costs represent future minimum lease obligations, net of expected sublease income, for abandoned facilities. Lease payments on abandoned facilities will continue through the third quarter of 2020.
