Jointly Owned Utility Facilities

Under joint facility ownership agreements, the Company, as tenants in common, has undivided interests in jointly owned generation and transmission facilities. The Company accounts for its proportionate share of each facility and each joint owner has provided financing for its share of each facility. Operating costs of each facility are assigned to joint owners based on their percentage of ownership or energy production, depending on the nature of the cost. Operating costs and expenses on the Consolidated Statements of Operations include the Company's share of the expenses of these facilities. ON Line, a 500-kilovolt transmission line connecting the Company and Sierra Pacific, was placed in-service December 2013. The Company and Sierra Pacific entered into a long-term transmission use agreement, in which the Company and Sierra Pacific have 25% interest and Great Basin Transmission South, LLC has 75% interest. Refer to Note 8 for additional information.
