Interest Bearing Deposits in Banks

Interest bearing deposits in banks consist of certificates of deposit purchased from various financial institutions. Deposits at each institution are generally maintained at or below the FDIC insurable limit of $250 thousand. As of December 31, 2019, the Company held certificates with rates ranging from 1.75% to 3.55% and various maturity dates through 2028, with $1.7 million scheduled to mature in 2020.
