As a result of share repurchases by AMIC in January 2013, (i) noncontrolling interests decreased by $1,638,000; (ii) the Company recorded a $403,000 credit to its paid-in capital; and (iii) IHC’s ownership interest in AMIC increased to 80.6%. In October 2013, IHC purchased 762,640 shares of AMIC common stock in connection with a tender offer for such shares and, as a result, IHC and its subsidiaries further increased its ownership of AMIC to 90.0%.
