Assets Held for Sale As of March 31, 2020 and December 31, 2019, a building with a carrying value of $1.9 million was classified as held for sale and is included in Other Assets. During the first quarter of 2019, the Company sold a building, which had previously been held for sale, for net proceeds of $4.5 million. Both buildings were in the Material Handling Segment. When a facility meets held for sale classification criteria, it is also evaluated for impairment by comparing its carrying value to its estimated fair value less estimated costs to sell. Estimated fair value of these buildings was based on third party offers, which are Level 2 inputs. No impairment related to assets held for sale was recognized in the quarter ended March 31, 2020. An impairment charge of $0.9 million was recorded during the quarter ended March 31, 2019 in connection with a building meeting the held for sale criteria.
