Regional Expenses	Regional Expenses Our regional carriers provide scheduled air transportation under the brand name “American Eagle.” The American Eagle carriers include our wholly-owned regional carriers as well as third-party regional carriers. Our regional carrier arrangements are principally in the form of capacity purchase agreements. Expenses associated with American Eagle operations are classified as regional expenses on the condensed consolidated statements of operations. Regional expenses for each of the three months ended March 31, 2025 and 2024 include $79 million of depreciation and amortization and $2 million of aircraft rent. During the three months ended March 31, 2025 and 2024, we recognized $168 million and $149 million, respectively, of expense under our capacity purchase agreement with Republic Airways Inc. (Republic). We hold a 25% equity interest in Republic Airways Holdings Inc., the parent company of Republic.

Regional expenses for the three months ended March 31, 2025 and 2024 include $70 million and $69 million of depreciation and amortization, respectively, and each include $2 million of aircraft rent. During the three months ended March 31, 2025 and 2024, American recognized $168 million and $149 million, respectively, of expense under its capacity purchase agreement with Republic Airways Inc.
